The Children's/Young Adult's Department of Samuels Public Library has something for all youth from babies to young adults. Hardcover books, magazines, paperbacks, encyclopedias and more are available to check out. Reference material for research is abundant and available for review in the library. Do you like to use the computer? There are six computers in the children's area and 4 computers in the Y/A area which have various games, teaching programs, etc These computers also offer internet access for children's research needs, but remember that children under the age of 18 must have parental permission to access the internet.
Story time programs are offered weekly and monthly for children from birth through 5th grade. Young Adults can enjoy a variety of activities such as trivia contests, courses, book discussions, and more. All are offered throughout the year.

Description of Children's Programs
Toddler Story Time - Wednesday and Thursday at 10:15am. Stories, finger plays, crafts, songs and LOTS of fun for children 2 years old which lasts 30 minutes.
Preschool Story Time -Wednesday and Thursday at 11am. Stories, music, movement, games, puppets, crafts and more! Children ages 3-5 years have programs that lasts 30 to 45 minutes.
Big Kids - Book related activities- theatre, crafts, games, songs, etc. for children in grades K-5. Program will last about 1 hour.
Young Adults - Book discussions, courses, creative art, etc. for older students. Each program will be designated for age limits and time factors. Check the Calendar!

The staff in the Children's/Young Adult Department is ready to help you find that special book or activity that is just right for you. If we don't have it, we can always try to borrow it from another library. Just come in and ask!
