The Dr. Gisela A. Dengel Memorial Fund

It gives us great pleasure to announce formation of the Dr. Gisela A. Dengel Memorial Fund, dedicated to the Samuels Library Children's area, which shall bear her name.

Dr. Dengel set up her pediatric practice in Front Royal in 1972 and cared for thousands of local children in the 30 years the office was open. It was never too early or too late for a concerned parent to call. There are so many stories of Dr. Dengel saving a child's life. Her support of "her children" as they grew was not confined to medicine; she encouraged them to be everything they could be.

We believe there can be no more fitting tribute to Dr. Dengel than the Samuels Library Children's Area, where our next generation will begin its own process of education and the path to self fulfillment.

In support of this intiative, the Dengel Family has pledged to match the first $10,000 contributed to the Dr. Gisela A. Dengel Memorial Fund.
