Samuels Public Library is a not for profit corporation, and any donations you make in support of your community library are tax deductible. We have numerous items on our wish list, but the top priority is to pay back the money borrowed to furnish your new library. Here is our priority list:

Priorities for External Funding for 2010-2011

• $356,372.00:  Pay off the outstanding debt to the County for the furnishings.  $50,000.00 from the Library Foundation, $50,000.00 from Dept of Agriculture grant. ……$256,372.00 funds are still needed.
• $18,000.00:  Finish the three landscaping projects:  new evergreen plantings, a new rain garden and other plantings using the Dept of Forestry grant of $13,000.00 and an additional …..$5,000.00 funds are still needed. The Rick Bennsky Entrance Gardens $3,000.00. Have $3,000.00. No additional funds are needed.
• $3,000.00:  Add a public scanner and coin vending machine to create new money stream…. $3,000.00 funds are still needed.
• $39,000.00:  Replace dated and worn materials in the library non-fiction and Books on CD collections.-$29,000.00 gift from O’Reilly Brothers = an additional …$10,000.00 funds are still needed.
• $5,500.00:  Build the children’s’ collection of books, CDs and DVDs to go with the children’s programs.  Ex:  musical programs- learn piano on CD, books on manners and tea parties. …$5,500.00 funds are still needed.
• $5,000.00:   Buy a collection of Books, DVDs and CDs to be used in conjunction with the new Adult classes. Ex:  ESL materials-Learning English , Resume writing and other Job searching materials.   …$5,000.00 funds are still needed.
• $2,500.00:  Buy language CD materials for children.  Learn Spanish, Farsi, Japanese Latin or other languages.  …$2,500.00 funds are still needed.
• $5,000.00:   Buy books and materials to supplement the Friends upcoming programs: Travel, History and Finance….  $5,000.00 funds are still needed.
•  $6,000.00:  Buy two paperback racks to expand the paperback collections. …$6,000.00 funds are still needed.
• $2,500.00 to buy Spanish materials to expand the collection. …$2,500.00 funds are still needed.
• $2,500.00:  Buy or request percussion instruments to start new baby musical programs. …$2,500.00 funds are still needed.
