Hands-On Photography Workshop

Saturday, March 23rd, 2019 
2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
 REGISTRATION REQUIRED 


Celebrate the Spring Equinox by attending a hands-on photography workshop. We will meet at the library for a quick orientation. Weather permitting, we will then move to Eastham Park. At the park, we will photograph the flora and fauna that reside at this riverside gem. We will focus on light and composition. Therefore, any type of camera, including smartphones, will work. In case of inclement weather, the session will be conducted inside the library. Register for this event online.

Free Blood Pressure Readings

Medical personnel from St. Luke Community Clinic will be here in the cafe area to check and monitor your blood pressure free-of-charge. Note: Takes place most Tuesdays of every month - if personnel are not here, blood pressure checks are available any day of the week at St. Luke Community Clinic. You do not need to be a patient there to take advantage of this service.

Spring Wildflower Photography Workshop

April wildflowers celebrate Mother Nature’s glorious emergence from winter. The Shenandoah Valley has a spectacular array of spring wildflowers that are perfect subjects for photography. Sharon Fisher, local photographer, will present simple techniques for photographing wildflowers.

 

This presentation focuses on how to compose wildflower photos using any type of camera or smartphone. We will provide advice on settings and share great locations for viewing and photographing wildflowers. Bring your camera or smartphone along to review different settings and to practice taking photos of potted flowers in the classroom. An additional hands-on workshop will provide instruction in the field. Register for this event online.
