The Other Side of Eden

The Friends of Samuels Library present a special movie screening and discussion by documentary film director Tom Davenport. Tom's film, The Other Side of Eden, explores the 1932 lynching of a black man in Fauquier County, based on the recently published book The Last Lynching in Virginia by Jim Hall. Join Front Royal artist, Michael Whited, in a class for budding young artists ages 9 to 18. Young artists will complete one work of art in each 1 1/2-hour session. The class emphasizes using basic shapes in drawings and painting, shading and shadowing techniques, and combining elements into a cohesive composition. Techniques may include using colored pencils, water colors, or acrylics. Register for this event online.
