Visual Voyages: Techniques for Photographing Your Travels

Join us to learn how photography can capture the heart and soul of the places you visit. The key to dynamic travel photography is being able to identify images that represent the unique essence of a destination. Travel photography can be close to home in our beautiful parks and downtown events or can be in far-off lands.

This presentation focuses on how to select and compose scenes using any type of camera or smartphone. Included will be some basic techniques that help you capture great images. Finally, we will discuss options for printing and sharing images. Although this is not a hands-on presentation, bring your camera or smartphone along to review different settings. An Appalachian Odyssey: My 30 Years on the Appalachian Trail

Author Jeffrey Ryan will share his Appalachian Trail adventures spanning half a lifetime. Ryan has hiked over 8,000 miles on America's trails.

In 1985, he started "inadvertently" hiking the Appalachian Trail with a friend, an adventure that ended up spanning over 2,100 miles and nearly three decades. His two books, An Appalachian Odyssey: My 30 Years on the Appalachian Trail and Blazing Ahead will be available for purchase. Register for this event online.
