Samuels Public Library is hosting an Electronics Recycling Fundraiser! We're partnering with Connect Computer Recycling (CCR) to host an Electronics Recycling Fundraiser to benefit the library! Various electronics, technology, and accessories are eligible for drop-off. Proceeds from the recycled items will be donated to Samuels Library.

We will be accepting a limited list of items for drop off starting June 15th leading up to July 18th - view the list of eligible items below.

Connect Computer Recycling is a family-owned recycling company that began in 2024 by seeing the need in the Shenandoah Valley for a better way of e-waste conservation and partners with nonprofits to host communitydriven recycling fundraisers.

Eligible Items

Items that will only be accepted on July 18th

Out of caution, items that contain lithium batteries will only be accepted on the main drop-off day.

Prior to the main drop-off day, Samuels Library will accept items from the list below beginning June 15th. Items will not be accepted earlier than June 15th.

What About Personal Information?

CCR uses proven data destruction techniques to ensure all data on your hard drive is destroyed. Options for personal data removal include:
  • A professional DoD standard 3-pass wipe using CCR’s professional wipe software.
  • Disassembling the hard drive’s platters and physically destroying the information and shipping the disassembled hard drive to an R2 certified recycler.
  • CCR will remove the hard drive and return it to you.
  • Remove the data yourself before drop-off.
